Fieldwork planning, training and organization are key factors in successful survey execution
PARSTATS HAS VAST EXPERIENCE IN KEY ASPECTS OF FIELD EXECUTION
01
Identifying and pre-selecting the field workers who best meet the survey requirements
Training field workers thoroughly, including theoretical topics, practice in classroom and practice in the field
02
Planning the activities of each interviewer or team of interviewers at a sample point
Assigning time for correcting inconsistent information while interviewers are still at the sample point. This is done by integrating computer quality controls and fieldwork, either by incorporating data entry within field activities or by using electronic questionnaires
03
Defining the most efficient organization of field workers, in accord with the survey characteristics.
In most cases field workers are organized in teams consisting of a team leader and two to four interviewers
Implementing effective strategies to prevent nonresponseÂ
04
Determining and enforcing on-site supervision protocols to be applied by the team leaders and by the core survey staff
Providing other technological tools to support supervision, such as the continuous monitoring of quality indicators, the use of geographic information systems and the recording and auditing of interviews
05
The implementation of phone surveys is supported by TELSIA (Telephone Survey Integrated App), an in-house-developed CATI application for questionnaire management, automated administration of the sample and calls, plus ongoing online supervision. It can be used either in a central location or with interviewers working from home, with laptops, tablets, or cell phones.
