Rapid Assessment of Agridigitalizacion Project

The International Fund for Agricultural Development implemented the Rural Poor Stimulus Facility (RPSF) program in Latin American and Caribbean countries to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic and improve the socioeconomic conditions of beneficiaries. To monitor and report on the achievements of the program, IFAD selected a sample of RPSF projects to collect data through a household survey and conduct a rapid assessment of the program. Parstats Team was in charge of the survey design and implementation.

One of the selected projects was Agridigitalización, which was implemented in five countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. The project sought to leverage digital finance, e-commerce and technology solutions for the rural population and expected to benefit agricultural producers to face the COVID emergency and recover more quickly, generating social, financial and technical inclusion. The project also contemplated working with rural community banks.

This survey covered project beneficiaries in Guatemala, Honduras and Peru, and collected data on agriculture, income, household assets, food security, COVID resilience and demographics.
